Ethiopia: Free Trade Zone implementation pleases Angola

Addis Ababa, ANGOLA, January 31 - The Angolan Foreign Affairs minister, Manuel Augusto, last Monday hailed African leaders for approving the report on the implementation of the Free Trade Zone in Africa, which the diplomat deems crucial for the boosting of inter-African trade. ,

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the 30th Ordinary Session of the Conference of African Union (A.U) Heads of State and Government that ended last Monday, the Foreign minister said that the report that was presented corresponds to the expectations.

Manuel Augusto assured that the implementation of the Free Trade Zone is practically completed.

He said very soon the continent will implement this important mechanism that is intended to facilitate continental circulation of people and goods.

He stressed that this instrument will benefit African producers and make continental products reach African markets at lower costs.

He went on to say that another important decision reached by the African leaders was the approval of the report  on the Common Aviation Market, which is deemed another valuable tool for the promotion of free flow of people and goods in the continent, as well as for the development of tourism.

“With these instruments, we can say that the summit was a success”, he assured.
